## Key facts

- What it is: Beckley Retreats offers legal, guided psilocybin retreat programs in Jamaica and the Netherlands, with preparation before, two guided psilocybin sessions on retreat, and integration after. It is a public benefit corporation and does not provide medical treatment.
- Founded: 2021, by Amanda Feilding (1943 to 2025), Rock Feilding-Mellen and Neil Markey (CEO), as an extension of the Beckley Foundation's psychedelic research.
- Legal basis: Psilocybin mushrooms are legal in Jamaica; psilocybin truffles are legal in the Netherlands. Beckley runs programs only where psilocybin is legal and never in the United States.
- Venues: Jamaica: the 2,000-acre Good Hope estate, Trelawny, 45 minutes from Montego Bay. The Netherlands: De Hoorneboeg near Amsterdam and The Place To Be in the Achterhoek.
- Program: Four weeks of preparation before travel, four or five nights on retreat with two guided psilocybin sessions on separate days, six weeks of integration after. Preparation and integration are online and at your own pace, one to two hours a week.
- Formats and prices per guest: Signature Program, five nights: Jamaica $5,500 to $12,500; the Netherlands $6,750 to $9,500. 4-Night Program, the Netherlands: $4,250 to $7,800. Prices depend on room type. Private programs by arrangement.
- Group and ratio: Groups of up to 18 guests. At least one facilitator for every four guests during sessions, usually one for every three.
- Team: Practitioners with backgrounds as psychotherapists, psychologists and physicians. On retreat they are not acting in their licensed capacity, because Beckley does not provide medical treatment.
- Dosing: Every guest receives a custom amount within a predefined range, around what you would see in a clinical trial in the US. This is not medical treatment.
- Screening: Every applicant completes a confidential application and has a mandatory suitability call. Some psychiatric and physical conditions and some medications, including SSRIs and SNRIs, may mean the program is not a fit, or not yet.
- Minimum age: 21.
- Payment: 50 percent deposit at registration, balance in monthly instalments until 60 days before the retreat. Financial aid is available.
